Abstract

Expression of concern for ‘Naturally derived sugar-based ionic liquids: an emerging tool for sustainable organic synthesis and chiral recognition’ by Priyanka Muthukuru et al., New J. Chem., 2021, 45, 20075–20090, https://doi.org/10.1039/D1NJ03914H.

The Royal Society of Chemistry is publishing this expression of concern in order to alert readers that concerns have been raised regarding this manuscript. In schemes throughout the manuscript, sugar molecules and sugar derivatives are shown in incorrect or ambiguous isomeric configurations. Furthermore, compounds that appear throughout the manuscript have been assigned different numbers at each appearance.

The authors have been alerted to this and are in the process of preparing a comprehensive correction document. An expression of concern will continue to be associated with the article until a suitable correction has been published.
