Abstract

Expression of concern for ‘Electrospun nanofibrous membranes of cellulose acetate containing hydroxyapatite co-doped with Ag/Fe: morphological features, antibacterial activity and degradation of methylene blue in aqueous solution’ by Ahmed Esmail Shalan et al., New J. Chem., 2021, 45, 9212–9220, https://doi.org/10.1039/D1NJ00569C.

The Royal Society of Chemistry is publishing this expression of concern in order to alert readers that concerns have been raised regarding the reliability of the XRD data in Fig. 1, the SEM data in Fig. 2b–e, the AFM data in Fig. 3, and the optical absorption spectra in Fig. 9a and pseudo first-order kinetics in Fig. 9b. An investigation is underway, and an Expression of Concern will continue to be associated with the article until a final outcome is reached.
