Abstract

Correction for ‘Supramolecular self-assembly of amantadine hydrochloride with ferulic acid via dual optimization strategy establishes a precedent of synergistic antiviral drug-phenolic acid nutraceutical cocrystal’ by Ling-Yang Wang et al., Analyst, 2021, 146, 3988–3999, https://doi.org/10.1039/D1AN00478F.

The authors wish to draw the reader's attention to their closely related paper, published at nearly the same time in CrystEngComm,1 which should have been cited in this Analyst paper.

This Analyst paper reports the formation of amantadine hydrochloride-ferulic acid co-crystal through a dual optimization cocrystallization strategy, whereas ref. 1 reports the formation of a molecular salt of amantadine-ferulic acid prepared via a dual optimization salification strategy. Therefore, although both papers report different cocrystallization and salification strategies, ref. 1 should have been cited in this Analyst article.

In addition, the FTIR spectrum of amantadine hydrochloride (AMH) presented in Fig. S1 is incorrect. The correct FTIR spectrum is provided in the revised ESI and is reproduced below.
