Surface hydroxyl groups: the key to a CrOx/TiO2 catalyst for efficient catalytic oxidation of 2,2′-hydrazine diisobutyronitrile†
Abstract
The catalytic mechanism of titanium dioxide loading with a chromium oxide (CrOx/TiO2) catalyst for the oxidation of 2,2′-hydrazobis-isobutyronitrile to 2,2′-azobis-isobutyronitrile was investigated, which revealed that the surface hydroxyl groups of TiO2 could promote the formation of the real active center (Cr–O–Ti) for an efficient catalytic oxidation process.
