Selective C3-nitrosation of imidazopyridines using AgNO3 as the NO source

Abstract

We developed a novel method for selective radical nitrosation of imidazo[1, 2-a]pyridine derivatives using AgNO3 as a NO source. Moreover, one-pot and sequential one-pot strategies are effective under standard conditions. This is the first time that AgNO3 was reported to be used as a NO source. Additionally, synthetic transformation and gram-scale experiments highlighted the significance of this reaction. The key feature of this protocol is its low toxicity, mild reaction conditions, and broad functional group tolerance.
