Abstract

Correction for ‘Clinical correlation between serum cytokines and the susceptibility to Polygonum multiflorum-induced liver injury and an experimental study’ by Le Zhang et al., Food Funct., 2022, 13, 825–833, https://doi.org/10.1039/D1FO03489H.

The authors regret the incomplete description of the time of intragastric administration of Polygonum multiflorum (PM) water extract or cis-stilbene glycoside (CSG) solution in the original article, which may cause misunderstanding of days of administration. Two sentences should be added to make the methods section much clearer in section 2.3.3 and 2.3.4.

In section 2.3.3, a sentence needs to be added after the sentence “Low-dose PM water extract was 3.12 g kg−1 (equivalent to 4 times the clinical equivalent dose), with a high dose of 6.24 g kg−1”. The additional sentence is: “Mice in corresponding groups were given PM water extract or deionized water once a day for 6 consecutive days, and fasted for 12 h after the last gavage. On the 7th day”, followed by the sentence in the original text “mice in the groups labeled T were injected with TNF-α solution via the caudal vein, and the remaining groups were injected with normal saline.”

In section 2.3.4, a sentence needs to be added after the sentence “CSG was dissolved in deionized water to the desired concentration”. The additional sentence is: “Mice in corresponding groups were given CSG solution or deionized water once a day for 6 consecutive days, and fasted for 12 h after the last gavage. On the 7th day”, followed by the sentence in the original text “mice in the groups labeled T were injected with TNF-α solution via the caudal vein, and the remaining groups were injected with normal saline.”

The Royal Society of Chemistry apologises for these errors and any consequent inconvenience to authors and readers.
