Chromogenic covalent organic polymer-based microspheres as solid-state gas sensor

Abstract

A new micro-spherical covalent organic polymer was synthesized by imine linkage between two triazine-cored precursors under solvothermal conditions. This COP attains spherical morphology and promising solid-state properties along with reversible chromogenic response toward the sensitive detection of the noxious HCl gas. The as-synthesized COP material can then serve as the first microsphere-based chromogenic solid-state gas sensor.
