Retraction of ‘The influence of nanoscale size on the adsorption–desorption of U(VI) on nano-Al oxides’ by Tian Wan et al., Environ. Sci.: Nano, 2018, 5, 2731–2741.
Repeating fragments can be observed in the XPS spectra reported in Fig. 5A, which indicates that they have been manipulated.
The authors have informed us that they used the wrong dataset to plot the EXAFS curve in Fig. 5B. Therefore, the published EXAFS data in Fig. 5B is unreliable.
Given the number and significance of the concerns about the validity of the data, the findings presented in this paper are no longer reliable.
