Reduced graphene–tungsten trioxide-based hybrid materials with peroxidase-like activity

Abstract

A hybrid was synthesized using tungsten trioxide and graphene as starting materials. The hybrid's characteristics were investigated by scanning and transmission microscopy, and Raman and adsorption spectroscopy respectively. Incubation with a model chemical compound used for evaluating oxidative degradation showed enzymatic-like activity. A future application for decontamination-based platforms is envisioned.
