Visible-light-induced sulfonylation/cyclization of vinyl azides: one-pot construction of 6-(sulfonylmethyl)phenanthridines

Abstract

Visible-light-induced sulfonylation/cyclization of vinyl azides has been developed for the synthesis of 6-(sulfonylmethyl)-phenanthridines. This facile and efficient approach used simple and readily available sulfonyl chlorides as the sulfonylation reagent for the construction of C–S bonds and triggered the formation of the C–N bond with mild conditions, broad substrate scope, and high functional group tolerance.
