Abstract
Correction for ‘The side effects of platinum-based chemotherapy drugs: a review for chemists’ by Rabbab Oun et al., Dalton Trans., 2018, 47, 6645–6653.
On page 6646 of our article we stated that: body surface area is calculated using the patient's weight in kilograms divided by the square of their height in metres. This is incorrect, and is actually the calculation for body mass index. The sentence should say: Rather, the dose for cisplatin and oxaliplatin is adjusted taking into account the patient's body surface area (BSA) which is calculated with the Du Bois formula using a patient's weight and height.
The Royal Society of Chemistry apologises for these errors and any consequent inconvenience to authors and readers.
