Super-fast synthesis of ZnO nanowires by microwave air-plasma
Abstract
Microwave radiation is focussed on the sharp edges of the Zn swarf. Plasma is produced by a microwave under atmospheric conditions and successfully used to synthesize ZnO nanowires and ZnO nanoparticles. The fabrication setup is very simple but extremely fast and effective. The sharp Zn swarf is irradiated by the microwave and is ignited and sputtered by the air plasma with a very high oxidization and crystallization rate.
