Humidity dependency of the thermal phase transition of a cyano bridged Co–W bimetal assembly

Abstract

The phase transition of a cyano-bridged Co–W bimetal assembly Co3[W(CN)8]2(4-methylpyridine)2(pyrimidine)2·xH2O depends on the humidity. This humidity responsivity is attributed to changes in the internal pressure due to the absorption (or desorption) of water molecules in the interstitial sites of the cyano-bridged three-dimensional network.
