Abstract

The thermal stability of α′′-Fe₁₆N₂, which attracts much interest because of its superior magnetic properties featuring a large magnetocrystalline anisotropy (K_u ∼ 1 × 10⁷ erg cm⁻³) and a large saturation magnetization (M_s ∼ 234 emu g⁻¹), though unfortunately thermally unstable, has been quantitatively studied.
