Effect of the lead speciation on a natural freshwater ecosystem

Abstract

Field experiments in a body of water with the addition of Pb2+ to mesocosms at different pH demonstrated that the transformation of lead species was responsible for the dynamics of lead removal to bottom sediments and for an oppressing effect on aquatic organisms.
