MIL-14, formulated Al2(HPO4)3F2·H2PO4·N4C6H21, is a new layered fluoroaluminophosphate obtained by hydrothermal synthesis using tris(2-aminoethyl)amine as a template. It crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c with a=13.154, b=9.518, c=17.889 Å, β=106.165° and Z=4. Its structure consists of an alternation along [100] direction of inorganic layers interleaved by amine phosphates. The structural unit of the inorganic layer contains five polyhedra: two aluminium octahedra and three HPO4 tetrahedra. Strong hydrogen bonds ensured framework stability.
