A Bi2U1–xZrxO6–x solid solution has been evidenced for 0≤x≤0.40. The monoclinic Bi2UO6 room-temperature form extends in the range 0≤x≤0.20 and the related trigonal high Bi2UO6 form is stabilised at room temperature for higher substitution ratio. The electrical properties of these materials have been measured. Neutron diffraction combined with electron diffraction microscopy allow proposal of a structural model and confirmed the two dimensional properties of these materials.
