Abstract

Reaction of ethyl N-phosphonomethylglycinate with triethyl orthoformate gave a mixture of triethyl N-formyl-N-phosphonomthylglycinate (3) and diethyl N-formyl-N-phosphonomethylglycine (4), the rotational barriers of which have been investigated theoretically and experimentally.
