Abstract

The four-coordinate complexes [PdBr([hair space]p-NCC6H4)(MeO-Biphep)], 1 [MeO-Biphep = 6,6′-dimethoxy-2,2′-bis(diphenylphosphino)-1,1′-biphenyl], and [PdBr(p-NCC6H4)([hair space]p-tol-Binap)], 2 [p-tol-Binap = 2,2′-bis(di-p-tolylphosphino)-1,1′-binaphthyl], both distort markedly, with the former no longer square-planar, and the latter, possessing the longest recorded Pd–P bond length.
