Abstract

Rate coefficients for the reactions between the NO3 radical and pent-1-ene (k1), hex-1-ene (k2) and hept-1-ene (k3) have been determined at T=296±1 K and P=759±7 Torr by a relative-rate method using the reaction between the NO3 radical and but-1-ene (k4) as the reference reaction. The values of the rate constants measured were k1=(1.51±0.54)×10-14 cm3 molecule-1 s-1, k2=(1.85±0.66)×10-14 cm3 molecule-1 s-1, k3=(2.06±0.62)×10-14 cm3 molecule-1 s-1 and the value of the reference rate constant was k4=(1.35±0.41)×10-14 cm3 molecule-1 s-1.
