Spectroscopic properties of KY₃F₁₀:Er³⁺

Abstract

Absorption, luminescence and MCD spectra of KY₃F₁₀:Er³⁺ have been recorded at different temperatures between liquid helium and room temperature. Crystal-field and intensity calculations are presented. Special attention is paid to the three mutually perpendicular C_4v sites in the KY₃F₁₀ host crystal and to the consequences for the parameter sets.
