A flow-mixing calorimeter has been used to measure the excess molar enthalpy HmE(p°) of (nitrogen+chloroform)(g) at standard atmospheric pressure (p°) over the temperature range 333.2–423.2 K. The measurements were analysed using pair potential parameters for nitrogen, assuming suitable combining rules for the calculation of cross-terms, and finding parameters of the Stockmayer potential for chloroform that fitted the excess enthalpy measurements. These parameters are ε/k=1040 K, σ=0.306 nm and t*=0.0877. Second virial coefficients calculated from these parameters are in agreement with those obtained from (pVT) experiments.
