Abstract

Two novel complexes Mg2(µ-H2O)(µ-OAc)2(L)4(OAc)2 (L = imidazole or benzimidazole) have been synthesized and characterized; they contain the first example of an aqua-bridged dimagnesium core, and may have implications for the hydrolytic activity of dimetallic hydrolases.
