Syntheses and crystal structures of divalent complexes with a new hexadentate ligand derived from 1,4,7-triazacyclononane ‡

Abstract

Mononuclear complexes [Ni(lbptcn)][ClO₄]₂, [Cu(lbptcn)][ClO₄]₂ and [Fe(lbptcn)][ClO₄]₂ with a new hexadentate ligand 1-(6-methyl-2-pyridylmethyl)-4,7-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)-1,4,7-triazacyclononane (lbptcn) having unequivalent pendant arms have been prepared and characterized by electronic spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography.
