Anion-induced migration reaction of acetylide from iron to cyclopentadienyl in (cyclopentadienyl)irondicarbonyl(acetylide) complexes

Abstract

The anion-induced migration reaction of acetylide in (η⁵-C₅H₅)Fe(CO)₂(C[triple bond, length half m-dash]CPh) 1 was observed in a sequential treatment of lithium diisopropylamide then MeI or MeC(O)Cl resulting in (η⁵-C₅H₄C[triple bond, length half m-dash]CPh)Fe(CO)₂Me 2 or (η⁵-C₅H₄C[triple bond, length half m-dash]CPh)Fe(CO)₂C(O)Me 3, respectively, the structure of 3 being confirmed by a single-crystal X-ray study.
