Abstract

The reaction of K[HB(3-Butpz)3] with GaI3 resulted in breakdown of the ligand and formation of a novel Ga/O cluster. This compound can be described as four edge-sharing Ga/O,N octahedra or as two face sharing partial Ga/O heterocubanes, i.e. a quasi double heterocubane.
