Lithium fluoride formed in situ is trapped by [TiF₃(C₅Me₅)]₂: an equilibrium with cleavage of a Ti–F–Ti bond and a model compound for molecular lithium fluoride

Abstract

Synthesis and structure of [{(C₅Me₅)TiF₃}₄(LiF)] and its solution equilibrium involving cleavage of a titanium–fluorine–titanium bond is reported.
