The first sandwich silver cluster of a trinuclear cyclic gold(I) complex

Abstract

A new type of metal sandwich structure [Ag{[Au(µ-N³,C²- bzim)]₃}₂]BF₄·CH₂Cl₂ 1, is formed by reacting the neutral, triangular cluster [Au(µ-N³,C²-bzim)]₃ with Ag⁺; these units stack with two short intermolecular Au···Au distances of ca. 3.2 Å.
