Continuous monitoring method for organic pollutants in water based on chemiluminescence reaction with potassium permanganate

Abstract

A chemiluminescense reaction of potassium permanganate with organic compounds has been studied as an indicator of the degree of organic pollution in aqueous environments. This method is rapid and the results correlate well with those from conventional chemical oxygen demand methods.
