Abstract

The reaction of the N 1 ,N 2 -diarylacetamidines1a–d with 2,3-dicyano-1,4-naphthoquinone (2) led to theformation of benzo[f ]isoquinoline derivatives6a–d; the reaction mechanism is discussed.
