Abstract

The adsorption of oxygen on ferrierite has been accurately measured over the pressure range 10-1–105 Pa and the temperature range 130–210 K. The adsorbed molecules behave as a one-dimensional fluid for which virial coefficients and their temperature dependences were determined. The second and third virial coefficients show that neither dimers nor trimers exist while the fourth virial coefficient suggests the existence of stable tetramers.
