The crystal structure of [CuL2]·2.5H2O·0.5thf [L = 3-(4-pyridyl)pentane-2,4-dionate; thf = tetrahydrofuran] has been solved; a small intermolecular antiferromagnetic interaction between Cu sites implies that L would be useful in synthesising heterobimetallic and polymeric species with interesting magnetic properties.
