Asymmetric dihydroxylation with silica-anchored alkaloids

Abstract

Diols with excellent enantiomeric excesses are obtained from unfunctionalised alkenes in high yields by osmium-catalyseddihydroxylations using silica-bound pyrimidine and pyrazino-pyridazine ligands.
