Abstract

Reaction of Ti(OPri)4 with propan-2-one, under initially anhydrous conditions, yields a colourless moisture-sensitive crystalline product which is structurally identified as the trinuclear oxoalkoxide [Ti3O{µ-OPri)3(OPri) 4{Me2C(O)CH[double bond, length as m-dash]C(O)CH2C(O)Me 2}] containing a coordinated C9 ligand derived from the condensation of propan-2-one.
