Abstract

The reaction of the soluble MoO3 analogue [Mo6O19]2- with Ph3P[double bond, length as m-dash]NCH2Ph replicates key features of heterogeneous ammoxidation chemistry by producing moderate yields of PhC[triple bond, length as m-dash]N through the proposed intermediacy of the benzylimido hexamolybdate complex [Mo6O18(NCH2Ph)]2-.
