First mononuclear organometallics of Mo^II and Mo^III containing terminal hydroxide ligands. X-Ray structure of [Mo(η⁵-C₅H₅)(OH)(PMe₃) ₃]BF₄

Abstract

The new complexes [Mo(η⁵-C₅H₅)(OH)(PMe₃) ₂] and [Mo(η⁵-C₅H₅)(OH)(PMe₃) ₃]⁺ are unique examples of electronically unsaturated organometallics of Mo^II and Mo^III containing terminal hydroxide ligands; they show no tendency to dimerize with formation of hydroxo-bridges.
