Synthesis, photophysics and crystal structures of hexanuclear copper(i) and silver(i) acetylide complexes

Abstract

The luminescent complexes [M₃(µ-Ph₂PCH₂PPh₂)₃ (µ₃-η¹-C≡CC₆H₄ C≡C-p)M₃(µ-Ph₂PCH₂ PPh₂)₃][BF₄]₄ are synthesized by the reaction of [M₂(µ-Ph₂PCH₂PPh₂)₂ - (MeCN)₂]²⁺ and 1,4-diethynylbenzene in the presence of BuⁿLi in thf (M = Cu 1, Ag 2); X-ray crystal structures of both are determined.
