Abstract

Naphthalenide reduction of [Mn(CNC6H3Me2-2,6)5Cl] forms solutions of trigonal-bipyramidal [Mn(CNC6H3Me2-2,6)5] -, as established by an X-ray diffraction study of a [K(18-C-6)(dme)]+ salt and derivatization with SnClPh3 to give [Mn(CNC6H3Me2-2,6)5(SnPh 3)].
