Reversibility of S-nitrosothiol formation

Abstract

The nitrosation of thiols is sufficiently reversible to allow, in many cases, the low thiol concentration present at equilibrium to reduce Cu2+ and bring about loss of nitric oxide from S-nitrosothiols.
