Fomation of a novel Al2O3 surface (Al–O*) by plasma-excited nitrogen: O2 production by water treatment of the Al–O* surface

Abstract

An uphill reaction (N2+3H2O → 2NH3+ 3/2O2) takes place on the Al2O3 surface by means of N2 plasma treatment followed by water treatment at room temprature.
