Comparison of the reactivity of germanium and tin terminal chalcogenido complexes: the syntheses of chalcogenolate and dichalcogenidostannacyclopentane derivatives

Abstract

The reactions of (η4-Me8taa)GeE (E = S, Se, Te) and (η4-Me8taa)SnE (E = S, Se) towards methyl iodide and ethylene sulfide highlight interesting similarities and differences in the reactivity of germanium and tin terminal chalcogenido functionalities.
