Platinum-catalysed addition of trimethylgermane to 1-trimethylsilylalk-1-ynes: a convenient synthesis of functionalised 2-trimethylgermylalk-1-enes

Abstract

Two experimentally simple steps [i, Me3GeH, H2PtCl6·6H2O (catalytic amount), CH2Cl2; ii, toluene-p-sulfonic acid monohydrate, CH2Cl2] serve to convert 1-trimethylsilylalk-1-ynes into synthetically useful 2-trimethylgermylalk-1-enes.
