Dalton communications. Synthesis, spectroscopy and electrochemistry of luminescent [ReVN{Ph2P(CH2)2PPh2}(MeCN)]2+

Abstract

Treatment of[ReVN(dppe)2Cl]ClO4[dppe = 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane] with Ag(CF3SO3) in MeCN afforded [ReVN(dppe)2(MeCN)][ClO4]2 which showed rich photophysical behaviour; its luminescence quantum yield was greater by a factor of > 103 than that of its chloro analogue [ReVN(dppe)2Cl]+.
