An unusual photochemical extrusion of carbon dioxide from laevoglucosenone derivatives via carbene intermediates

Abstract

Irradiation of Iaevoglucosenone derivatives 5 in benzene affords unexpected products 6, which are formed via extrusion of carbon dioxide from intermediate dioxycarbenes.
