Determination of the preferred conformation of a macrocyclic bis(bibenzyl) by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and molecular mechanics calculations

Abstract

The highly resolved 1H NMR spectrum of an intermediate 2in the synthesis of the macrocyclic bis(bibenzyl) plagiochin C 1 allows its conformation to be studied by DIFNOE experiments supported by molecular mechanics calculations and calculation of coupling constants.
