A novel synthesis of perfluoroalkylated α,β-unsaturated bromoalkane-carboxylates and -carbonitriles by the reaction of fluorinated β-oxido phosphonium ylides resulting from nucleophilic addition to β-perfluoroacyl group of fluorinated phosphoranes with N-bromosuccinimide is described.
