Microwave spectrum of chlorophosphaethyne, Cl—CP

Abstract

The microwave spectra of two chlorine isotopic species of Cl—CP have been recorded in the frequency range 24–43 GHz. The bond lengths have been determined to be r(Cl—C)= 1.635(5)Å and r(CP)= 1.554(5)Å. The dipole moment in the vibrationally excited bending state v₂= 1 is µ= 0.056(2) D (1 D ≈ 3.335 64 × 10^–30 C m).
