Faraday communications. Hypothetical isomerisations of LaC82

Abstract

The nine isolated-pentagon fullerene isomers of C82 all interconvert in a single map under the Stone–Wales pyracylene transformation. According to a recent hypothesis, this (unusual) result implies that C82 and LaC82 each have one predominant experimental isomer.
