Solid–solid wetting: a simple and effective method for the preparation of molybdenum sulphide/alumina catalysts

Abstract

The spreading of MoS2 on an Al2O3 support under thermal treatment at 723 K in the presence of a CS2–H2 atmosphere results in a dispersed phase, which exhibits activity for thiophene hydrodesulphurisation comparable with a conventional catalyst.
