Transannularly bridged di-µ2-thiotetraborane(10). Dynamics, cistrans-isomerism, reversible rearrangement: bis(diboranyl)‘butterfly’ structure

Abstract

B4H10 reacts with bifunctional thiols to give transannularly bridged H22)2S2RBH(B2H5) which exist as cistrans isomers; on cooling these compounds rearrange to cistrans H2B(µ2)2S2RB3H6.
